Firefighting on ships
Fighting a fire at sea is significantly different to fighting a fire on land. Getting to the source of the fire, often in the interior of the vessel, poses its own risk with narrow corridors and stairwells channelling heat and smoke. Access hatches and ladders and even the natural movement of the ship; not to mention the thermal conduction properties of the ships' steel mean the firefighting operation can be particularly difficult.
Draeger offer a range of products and services to help the firefighter in these conditions. Extended duration self contained breathing apparatus, thermal imaging cameras to spot sources of fire along with communication systems fully integrated into face masks ~ all help to ensure that the operation is conducted effectively and efficiently.
